XANADU : Software dedicated to the analysis of X-ray images and spectra.

The XANADU tasks are available at I.R.A. on the alpha axp workstations

To work with XANADU tasks a personal username on Alpha WS is required

To initialize the XANADU tasks you must enter the following commands
(or put these in your .login file)

ACTUAL Version:

              > setenv EXT osf
              > setenv XANADU /soft/astro/xanadu-new
              > source $XANADU/tools/initu.csh

OLD Version:

              > setenv EXT osf
              > setenv XANADU /soft/astro/xanadu
              > source $XANADU/tools/initu.csh

XSPEC is a command-driven, interactive, X-ray spectral fitting program.
It is designed to be completely detector-independent so it can be used
      for any spectral instrument.
Ginga, IUE, ROSAT PSPC, BBXRT, Astro-D, CCD e GIS)
It has also been used for simulations of SAX, XTE, AXAF.

      The actual version is 9.00
      The old version is 8.33

To work with XSPEC at the shell prompt type: xspec

XRONOS is a general purpose timing analysis package. Although it was designed
mostly for X-ray astronomy, XRONOS is basically detector and
wavelenght-independed. It has been used to analyse data from the Einstein
Observatory, EXOSAT and Ginga, as well as optical photometry and
helioseismology data. It includes programs for: light curve(s), hardness
radio and colour-colour plotting, epoch folding, power spectrum,
autocorrelation, cross-correlation, time skewness and statistical
      analysis.

      The actual version is 3.01

To work with XRONOS at the shell prompt type: xronos

XIMAGE is a multi-mission X-ray image display ans analysis program. It is
designed to be instrument independent and to support the analysis of
data from any X-ray imaging detector provided that the proper
calibration files are available. Currently XIMAGE supports the detailed
analysis of EXSOSAT CMA, Einstein HRI and IPC, ROSAT PSPC and HRI, and
ASCA GIS and SIS data. It also support some basic analysis of optical,
infrared and radio images. XIMAGE has built in data simulation program
that can simulate images of current and future X-ray missions (e.g. SAX,
      AXAF and XMM).

      The actual version is 2.53

To work with XIMAGE at the shell prompt type: ximage

QDP/PLT is the name of an interactive plotting and fitting FORTRAN subroutine.
The QDP program accepts various commands at the top of the file followed
by a two dimensional array of data.

To work with QDP/PLT at the shell prompt type: qdp filename

The XANADU packages User's Guide are available in three different forms:

HTML pages (except for QDP/PLT) at the address:
