Windows

There are 4 different types of windows that can be used by XRONOS:

Intensity and Exposure Windows can be specified independently for: (i) Bins , (ii) New Bins , (iii) Intervals. When dealing with applications involving more than one time series, Intensity and Exposure Windows must be specified separately for each series. Therefore there can be a maximum of 10*3*3=90 Intensity Windows and 1*3*3=9 Exposure Windows. In addition there are Special Newbin Windows which are controlled by global parameters number 13 and 14.

When running a XRONOS application in a Question/Answer user interface windows can be entered interactively (and written to a window file for future use if necessary). A window file containing the relevant windows must be created with application win, before running a XRONOS application in the Command Driven user interface. Window files are in any case recommended when the same windows will be used more than once.

Note that Time and Phase Windows are applied to Bins. Then Intensity and Exposure windows are applied first to Bins, then Newbins and finally to Intervals, as specified. Almost all Xronos applications use default Exposure Windows.
