The XRONOS code and help files currently consist of about 25,000 lines, most
of which were written by L. Stella. The development of XRONOS has been carried
out by L. Stella at the following institutes:
- EXOSAT Observatory (ESTEC, NL) from mid 1987 to February 1989;
- Department of Physics of the University of Rome (I) from March 1989 to
August 1989;
- EXOSAT Observatory (ESTEC, NL) from September 1989 to December 1989;
- Brera Astronomical Observatory (Milan, I) from January 1990 onwards;
L. Angelini has given major contributions to XRONOS, first developing the test
routines to read rate buffers into XRONOS (in collaboration with R. Shafer),
then carrying out a very high number of tests on the power spectrum and epoch
folding analysis programs and, more recently, producing the portable version of
XRONOS at NASA/GSFC. P. Giommi, A. Parmar, A. Pollock, G. Tagliaferri, M. van
der Klis and N. White provided several fortran routines and a number of
suggestions. Useful suggestions and bug reports were also provided by a number
of other people. C. Day carefully read and corrected an earlier version of this
guide.
